How Our Network Works
Request a provider estimate
Identify the business handling your request
Mindvaley Garage Doors connects homeowners with independent garage door providers. The referral service and the business that visits your home have different roles. At the start of a conversation, ask which business you are speaking with and whether you are discussing a referral or an appointment.
The provider is responsible for assessing the door and proposing work. Record the provider's business name and contact details before confirming a visit.
Request a callback to check provider availability and discuss your request.
Explain the door's current position
Start with whether the door is closed, open or stuck partway. Mention a vehicle trapped inside or an opening you cannot secure. These details help the provider understand the situation without asking you to test a door that may be unsafe.
Expect questions about scraping, uneven travel, visible damage and opener behavior. Share the approximate age of the equipment if known. You do not need to remove a cover or touch a spring to answer.
Ask how the visit and quote work
Before booking, establish what the visit includes and what you may be charged. Useful questions include:
- Is there a charge to inspect the door?
- Will I receive a written quote before work begins?
- Does the proposed price include parts, labor and removal of replaced equipment?
- What happens if you find another fault?
- Who handles questions about the completed work?
For replacement work, ask how door weight and opener compatibility will be checked. If a new garage door opener is proposed, ask what finding supports that recommendation.
Review the recommendation before deciding
An inspection may reveal more than one option. Ask the provider to explain the condition of the affected parts and why repair or replacement is proposed. Request written details of any warranty offered, including exclusions and who handles a claim.
You decide whether to authorize the work. A referral does not commit you to a repair. If an explanation is unclear, ask for it in plain language before agreeing to the scope or price.
Confirm the appointment details
Agree on an appointment window directly with the provider. Check any access requirements and ask how schedule changes are communicated. Availability varies by provider.
Keep the opening clear while you wait. If the door looks unstable, avoid operating it again. Use the request form to describe the problem and your location. The provider can then discuss assessment and appointment options with you.
